About us
The Scientific Editing Company and our training division, Electv, specialise in English editing and training for researchers. We are based in the United Kingdom and our team are all trained scientists with PhDs from UK universities. The company was founded in 2010 by Dr Joanna Young after she completed her PhD and postdoctoral research at the University of Edinburgh and the company is still based in Edinburgh today.
We offer an English editing service for scientific research manuscripts, book chapters, grant proposals, review papers, technical manuals, presentations, dissertations and postgraduate theses. In addition, through our training division Electv, we deliver training workshops (face to face and online) in publishing, communications and careers for researchers. Our annual conference
Since 2013, we have held an annual scholarly publishing conference, ReconEvent, in Edinburgh. We have hosted speakers from academia, scholarly journals, publishing companies, funding agencies, government and startups.
